Chief Executive Officer
Fiona Kalaf is an experienced CEO and Board Chair with professional senior leadership and management experience in commercial, corporate and not-for-profit organisations. She was the CEO of Lifeline WA for four years before taking up the helm as CEO of Youth Focus in February 2016. Fiona has previously held senior executive positions at Wesfarmers, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Asgard Wealth Solutions and HBF.
Fiona is currently on the Board of Australian Institute of Management WA and the Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority. She was on the Board of the Art Gallery of Western Australia from 2003 to 2014, and was Chair from 2010 to 2014. Fiona was on the Board of the East Perth Redevelopment Authority from 2008 to 2011. Fiona has recently been appointed to the Board of Healthway, from September 2016.
Fiona was a finalist at the prestigious Telstra WA Business Women’s Awards in 2015. She holds a Bachelor of Arts, a Bachelor of Architecture and a Master of Business Administration, and has completed the Strategic Perspectives in Nonprofit Management course at Harvard Business School.
General Manager – Operations
Tony’s experience includes training in Social Work and working as a child and adolescent mental health clinician for 10 years before transitioning into clinical leadership, operations management, strategic planning and service development. Tony has over 18 years’ experience in the public community and tertiary child and youth mental health sector before joining Youth Focus in 2012.
As the General Manager Operations Tony leads the operations of Youth Focus’ counselling service, headspace programmes and training and education division. Tony is committed to the delivery of high quality mental health services to the community in collaboration with consumers, funders and key stakeholders.
Senior Events and Partnerships Manager
Melanie is a senior manager with more than 20 years’ experience in the development and execution of projects in local, national and international markets across the sporting, entertainment, tertiary and not for profit industries.
Melanie oversees all Youth Focus events including key projects such as the Hawaiian Ride for Youth and the Night of Nights Ball.
Communications and Development Manager
Gemma is a management professional with a background in administrative business services, project management and business development. She is experienced in providing support to enable the mobilisation of key strategic initiatives using contemporary management and leadership styles.
Gemma was shortlisted as a finalist in the Australian Institute of Management Manager of the Year Awards 2015.
Gemma is responsible for the organisations communications, brand and marketing, in addition to fundraising, sponsorships and new business opportunities.
Finance and Risk Manager
Raj has over 18 years of experience in the public and private education sector. His responsibilities have covered financial accounting, strategic planning, market and competitor analysis and business development.
Raj manages all Youth Focus administrative functions including Finance, IT&T, Facilities Management, Risk Management, and HR.
