Youth Focus Workplace Training and Education Programs cater for the needs of both employers and employees.
While we offer a number of existing programs, we specialise in the development of delivery of tailored programs that deal with specific issues identified in the workplace. Our training is designed to assist:
• People to identify any potential mental health issues, to address those issues and to develop the resilience to cope in the future; and
• Parents, employers, friends, workmates and others in the community to identify and assist with mental health issues people may be experiencing.
MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID TRAINING FOR ADULTS (MHFA)
We provide training across all workplaces in particular those that employ young people. We work with both young people and management to increase mental health awareness in the workplace.
MHFA is a nationally recognised program delivered across Australia and internationally. Mental health first aid is the initial help provided to a person who is developing a mental health problem, or who is in a mental health crisis, until appropriate professional treatment is received or the crisis resolves. The course teaches adults how to provide initial support to adults who are developing a mental illness or experiencing a mental health crisis.
YOUTH MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID (YMHFA)
YMHFA is a nationally recognised program delivered across Australia and internationally. The course teaches adults how to assist adolescents who are developing a mental health problem or in a mental health crisis. Course participants learn about adolescent development, the signs and symptoms of common and disabling mental health problems in young people, where and how to get help when a young person is developing a mental illness, what sort of help has been shown by research to be effective, and how to provide first aid in a crisis situation.
