Putting young people at the centre

We are committed to delivering a high-quality, safe, and consistent service for young people across all our locations, tailored to meet the unique needs of each community.

Our approach is based on:

  • Every young person is different, and so are their needs. We offer a flexible range of services so that young people can choose what works for them, how often they access support, and where it takes place.

From the first appointment, we’ll work alongside each young person to understand what kind of support feels right, and we’ll keep checking in to make sure our approach continues to meet their needs.

    • By working with young people at the beginning when things don’t feel quite right, we can reduce the likelihood of a mental health challenge developing into a bigger problem.

      • Our services are grounded in clinical best-practice, combining the latest research with our own experience to understand what truly makes a difference for each young person.

From the very first session, young people receive meaningful support. There are no limits on how many sessions they can access, or how long they can stay connected with us.

If we’re not the right fit for what they need, we’ll help them find a service that is.

We regularly review our services, as outlined in Our Impact, to ensure they’re truly making a difference. We also actively participate in research trials to strengthen the broader understanding of youth mental health.

        • By offering services in the community, we make it easier for young people to get the support they need, when and where it suits them. Whether online or in person, young people can connect with us through Youth Focus and headspace locations, in schools, or via our outreach programs.

          • Our team brings a wide range of qualifications, lived experiences, skills, identities, and cultural perspectives, helping us connect with and support young people in ways that reflect the diverse experiences and needs of young people.
