Get outdoors this October for mental health

Having a variety of tools to manage our mental health is an important part in living our lives the way we want to.

Research shows that individuals who regularly engage in outdoor activities enjoy significantly higher mental well-being. Just two hours a week in nature is shown to benefit your mental health, not to mention reduce your risk of chronic disease significantly.

This is why Youth Focus is proud to be a beneficiary of Outdoors WA’s Outdoor October initiative, calling on the community to ‘Get Outside for Mental Health’, to help create a healthier, and happier WA.

Outdoors October is all about finding more ways to be active outdoors and enjoy the benefits – whether it’s pounding the pavement with a walk or run, riding through your neighbourhood, or taking on a refreshing ocean swim – and you can raise funds for Youth Focus while you do!

If you need more inspiration, Outdoors WA have created a calendar of 100 activities happening across the state for the month. Check it out here.
