Lili’s Work and Study Success

Meet Lili – a valued Youth Reference Group member and client at headspace Midland’s Work and Study Support program, Lili has recently commenced employment Bunnings!

In March, Lili sought the help from the Work and Study Support team after endless job applications and the fear of attending interviews. In the beginning of Lili’s work pathways journey, the team worked with Lili to build her confidence, explore her transferable skills, identify her passions, strengths, and long & short term goals.

Once the basics were established, they started exploring potential jobs and industries. Lili has a passion for hands on type of work and would love to eventually hold a FIFO role. However, given her age, for now, she was unable to gain specific certifications to be eligible to pursue this line of work. Her location, and not having a drivers licence,  meant that finding local trade work was not an option at the moment. So, Lili and the team decided to pursue the next best thing…Bunnings.

Within two short months, Lili had gained her desired job – a full time role managing click and collect orders. This jobs offers Lili the opportunity to mingle with people in many trades, allowing her to figure out exactly what trade she wants to pursue, while earning full time wages.

Throughout Lili’s journey, she has seen first hand that there’s more than one way to find a job and understands what it takes to stand out from the rest, and what she needs to do to be successful. The team believes these skills and the confidence Lili has gained through the process empowers her to be able to tackle future employment opportunities as they arise.

Congratulations and well done, Lili!
