We are so excited to announce that we have received a Lotterywest grant of $3.545 million to transform 28 Troode Street, West Perth into Perth’s first Youth Mental Health Hub! We are very grateful to Lotterywest, and to Health and Mental Health Minister Meredith Hammat who met with us to present the funding certificate.

For many years, we’ve wanted to create a space where we can bring together like-minded organisations, to provide young people with the range of services and support they need to navigate mental health challenges.

It can be challenging, costly, and time-consuming for young people and families to access multiple services. The Hub will make it easier for young people to access the help they need, when they need it.

This means young people in WA will be able to access a range of services, including counselling, work and study support, integrated physical and mental health care, and social services around issues such as alcohol and other drugs, homelessness, and family and domestic violence – all under one roof and at no cost to young people or their families.

The funding from Lotterywest will allow us to create a safe, welcoming, and accessible space for young people and their carers. The Hub will include dedicated counselling, clinical and telehealth rooms, private waiting areas for young people and their families, collaboration areas, and office accommodation for service providers.

Earlier this year, we undertook extensive community consultation to better understand what was important to young people and their families, and what they wanted to see in the Hub. Their generous feedback and ideas have helped shape the design of the building, and the services we’ll deliver.

It is expected that work will begin on the Hub towards the end of 2025, and be completed by mid-2026.

We can’t wait to share this journey with our community over the coming months!
