Our Peel & South West team are looking forward to being part of the Mental Health Clash between the Pinjarra Tigers and Waroona Football and Netball Clubs, taking place this Saturday, 20 June 2026.
Having witnessed the effects of suicide within their communities far too many times, the clubs established this annual event ten years ago to bring people together, raise awareness, start conversations, and help reduce the stigma surrounding mental health.
This year, thanks to a long partnership between our Peel & South West team and the Pinjarra Tigers, we are excited to be attending, sharing information and resources around mental health and wellbeing, connecting with players, and celebrating our M8D8 campaign with the community. Held during Men’s Mental Health Week, the Mental Health Clash is an important reminder that mental health remains the most significant health challenge facing young men today.
We are proud that both clubs have chosen Youth Focus as the recipient of funds raised through the Dunk the Stigma fundraiser – where community members have volunteered to be dunked, braving the cold to raise money for youth mental health.
The Pinjarra Tigers have been actively involved in our M8D8 campaign, encouraging young men to have real, honest conversations about mental health with their mates. Their videos share young men’s perspectives on why these conversations matter and how they show up for each other — in the good times and the tough times.
