Tonique joined headspace Work and Study looking to say goodbye to on the ground hospitality jobs and find her dream job as a flight attendant. During her final year in school, Tonique juggled exams and extracurricular study to help her work towards becoming a flight attendant. Tonique spent her first year out of school building her skills and experience by working in coaching and hospitality. Although Tonique had worked hard to get a strong foundation to get her started as a flight attendant, she struggled to get her foot in the door.
After one year of no luck, Tonique sought help from the headspace Midland Work and Study team. The Work and Study team utilised their connections in the aviation industry and her specialist Joe was able to connect Tonique with a manager from the Qantas team. Within a short four months, Tonique was successful in gaining an interview with Qantas, and shortly after, landed her dream job as a Flight Attendant!
Tonique’s story is a true reflection on what can be achieved when you believe in yourself, have the courage to not give up, and just as importantly, reach out ask for help when needed. Because of this, Tonique is now living her dream, traveling interstate and soon to be internationally, visiting places she’s never been, doing the things she loves to do.
