We’re very proud to release our 2023-24 Annual Report, which outlines the many ways we have supported young people with their mental health over the past twelve months.
In 2023-2024, we:
- supported 3,707 young people, with 22,290 occasions of service;
- delivered mental health education programs to 1,846 young people, teachers and carers;
- provided counselling in 48 schools across the State;
- helped 209 young people with their education and vocational goals through our Individual Placement and Support (IPS) program; and
- engaged with and supported communities from Meekatharra to Albany, through our eight metropolitan and regional offices.
It’s been a big year for us at Youth Focus, turning thirty in May 2024. We’ve learnt a lot over the past thirty years, and continue to evolve. Much of our work over the past twelve months has involved working with communities and our partners to find new and innovative ways to deliver our core services and increase accessibility for young people.
Our annual report outlines this work, including our ambitious project to understand and measure the outcomes and impact of our services for young people, expanding our outreach program in Geraldton, and piloting a project in partnership with First Nations communities in the Great Southern.
Of course, we haven’t done this on our own.
Our partnerships with young people, their families and carers, our sector partners, funders, corporate supporters, and donors and fundraisers are instrumental in supporting us to provide mental health services to young people at no cost, and without referral.
We value these partnerships, and the shared commitment to capacity building, knowledge-sharing, and most importantly, making a real difference for the young people we work with and for. Thank you!
