What We Do Private Adult Counselling by Youth Focus

Youth Focus is expanding to support the mental health of the wider community by introducing a Private Adult Counselling service which will be piloted from 7 March 2020.

This service is provided by registered mental health professionals who will support adults aged 26 and above in resolving their problems in a positive way by helping to clarify issues, explore options, develop strategies and increase self-awareness.

All proceeds from this fee-based service will support the delivery of free mental health services for young Western Australians.

Adults may be eligible for Medicare and private health care rebates.

Bohdanka Vagner-Figliomeni

Bohdanka Vagner-Figliomeni


Bohdanka (Boh) is a PACFA registered Counsellor specialising in working with adolescents and adults experiencing challenges with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, relationship and grief and loss issues.

Her focus is on providing a safe and non-judgemental therapeutic environment where a client can increase their self-awareness and come to understand themselves and their current life situation in a way that enables desired change.

Boh utilises a strengths-based approach in working with clients and draws from a variety of therapeutic models including and not limited to: Interpersonal Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Mindfulness and Family Conflict Resolution.

Over the course of her working history, Boh worked with parents and children at the Family Relationship Centre in Midland and the Family Relationship Centre in Joondalup providing Family Dispute Resolution services to families. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Counselling from the University of Notre Dame and a Post-graduate Diploma in Family Work.

Boh currently works as a Senior Counsellor at the Youth Focus Joondalup office and provides counselling for young people and their important others as well as supervision to other counsellors.

Sophia Wiacek

Sophia Wiacek


Sophia has been a Registered Psychologist since 2010 and is currently a Clinical Psychologist (Registrar) after completing a Masters in Clinical Psychology in 2016. Sophia started her undergraduate studies at UWA and then graduated to a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) with Honours at Murdoch University in 2004. Sophia has been providing mental health support services for more than 15 years.

Sophia has experience working across a wide range of presenting issues with clients of all ages. Sophia predominantly specialises and has an interest in the following areas: personality disorders, gender identity, sexuality issues, couples and family therapy, and the spectrum of anxiety and depressive disorders, including bipolar disorder.

Sophia also has extensive experience in adolescent mental health, in the areas of self-harm and suicide prevention. She has a passion for working with refugees and has worked with offenders. Sophia previously worked within rehabilitation management within the workers compensation sector as well as for the Department of Human Services (Centrelink).

Sophia is able to see clients on a GP referred Mental Health Care Treatment Plan, privately without a referral or you may be able to use your private health care rebates depending on your level and type of cover.
