Youth Focus is now supporting the mental health of the wider community with Private Adult Counselling.
This service is provided by registered mental health professionals who will support adults aged 26 and above in resolving their problems in a positive way by helping to clarify issues, explore options, develop strategies and increase self-awareness.
All proceeds from this fee-based service will support the delivery of free mental health services for young Western Australians.
Adults may be eligible for Medicare and private health care rebates.
Jessica is a Registered Psychologist with a Bachelor of Psychology from Murdoch University.
Jessica enjoys working with clients of various ages, cultures and social backgrounds and has experience treating people with issues related to depression, anxiety, stress, substance use, adjustment, trauma, grief, suicidal ideation, self-harm, interpersonal, pain, attachment, bipolar and personality disorders.
Jessica is practiced in the use of evidenced-based counselling techniques including: Mindfulness-based, Cognitive Behavioural, Acceptance and Commitment, Schema, Dialectical Behaviour, Interpersonal, Existential, Trauma-Focused and Solution Focused Therapies.
Jessica has previously worked in private practice and has been working for over 10 years within the mental health sector in various psychology and counselling roles.
Jessica is professional and highly motivated to help, utilising her excellent communication skills to build rapport and trust with her clients to ensure they feel supported in working through challenges and making changes in their lives.
Jess currently works as a Psychologist at the Youth Focus Burswood office and provides support to young people and their important others.
Bohdanka (Boh) is a PACFA registered counsellor specialising in working with adolescents and adults experiencing challenges with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, relationship and grief and loss issues.
Her focus is on providing a safe and non-judgemental therapeutic environment where a client can increase their self-awareness and come to understand themselves and their current life situation in a way that enables desired change.
Boh utilises a strengths-based approach in working with clients and draws from a variety of therapeutic models including and not limited to: Interpersonal Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Grief Therapy, Mindfulness and Family Conflict Resolution.
Over the course of her working history, Boh has worked with parents and children at the Family Relationship Centre in Midland and Joondalup providing Family Dispute Resolution services.
She holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Counselling from the University of Notre Dame and a post-graduate diploma in Family Work.
Boh currently works as a Senior Counsellor at the Youth Focus Joondalup office and provides counselling for young people and their important others as well as supervision to other counsellors.
