Working collaboratively
Youth Focus works collaboratively with health professionals and services to find the best support for young people, at any stage of their mental health journey.

How we work with health professionals & services
The mental health of young people is our highest priority – we aim to remove as many barriers as possible so they can access the support they need, when and where they need it.
We work alongside GPs, hospitals, youth counsellors, not-for-profits, family, friends and other youth service providers to ensure young people are connected to the support services they need, so they can get back to living their lives sooner. No referral is too soon, our Youth Counsellors work to prevent mental health struggles, so they don’t become bigger, more complex issues.
Finding support for a young person
When you refer a young person to Youth Focus, they will speak to our team of counsellors, social workers, occupational therapists and psychologists to help them understand how they’re feeling and their goals for the future.
Who we can support
Once a referral is made, we will be in touch with the young person directly to have an initial conversation about how our support might help them feel better than they do. Our team will re-connect with the referrer to update them on the outcome of the conversation, and to let them know if Youth Focus is the right service for them, and the next steps for the young person.
Young people are able to come to us with no formal referral or mental health care plan needed, and at no cost.
If you’re unsure about whether we are the right service for the young person you’re supporting, talk to us over the phone or by email – we’re here to help.
