Youth Focus named Telethon beneficiary in 2024

We’re delighted to announce that Youth Focus is once again a proud and grateful beneficiary of Telethon in 2024.

Thanks to the generosity of the Western Australian community, Youth Focus provides vital mental health support services to young people and their families, where and when they are most needed.

Mental illness is the leading cause of disability and poor life outcomes for young people, and tragically, suicide remains the leading cause of death for people aged 15 to 24 in Western Australia.

At Youth Focus we aim to create a community in which young people feel safe reaching for support, and that high-quality services are available when they do. We want this to be the reality for all young people, everywhere in Western Australia. The earlier young people access support, the sooner they can thrive in their lives and achieve their goals.

Telethon helps enable Youth Focus to remove barriers for disadvantaged young people and communities, to ensure that our mental health support services are available at no cost in over 40 accessible, youth-friendly locations throughout Metropolitan Perth, Peel, and the South-West.

“Thanks to the incredible generosity of Western Australians, we’ll be able to support even more young people with their mental health, so they can thrive in their community,” Youth Focus CEO, Derry Simpson, says. “We’re so grateful to be a Telethon beneficiary in 2024. Thank you, WA.”
