We are so proud and grateful to be a Telethon beneficiary for 2025.
For many years, Telethon7 funding has helped us to provide counselling and mental health services to young people, giving them the support and skills needed so that their mental health does not get in the way of them being who they want to be.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of the WA community, through Telethon7, we will be able to provide mental health counselling for young people at no cost to them, or their families or carers, in more than 40 schools and local community hubs and spaces throughout Perth, Peel, and the South-West, covering a geographical area of approximately 22,500km².
“Research tells us that nearly 40% of young people between the ages of 12 and 25 in Western Australia will experience a mental health challenge within the next twelve months, and that almost half of these young people won’t reach out for help,” said Youth Focus CEO, Derry Simpson.
“Making sure there are safe, accessible services when they do reach out is so important. This vital funding from Telethon7 means that more young people can get the support they need, when and where they need it.”
