A huge congratulations to our Board Member Christina Matthews, who was recently appointed to Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in the General Division.
Christina was recognised for her significant playing achievements and her involvement in sports administration at Cricket NSW, Cricket Australia, and WA Cricket, as well as her presence on boards and sub-committees benefiting women in sport.
Christina is also a passionate mental health advocate, and has had a long association with Youth Focus as a supporter and director. An avid cycling enthusiast, she completed our Hawaiian Ride for Youth in 2016 and 2019, as well as the CEO Challenge in 2017 and 2018, before taking on the role of Deputy Chair of the Hawaiian Ride for Youth Organising Committee in 2019, and then as Chair from 2020 – 2023.
Christina has been a valued member of the Youth Focus Board since August 2020, and we are very fortunate to benefit from Christina’s extensive knowledge and leadership skills.
We are delighted that Christina has been recognised in this way for her outstanding contribution to her communities. Congratulations Christina!
